Expansion of Humberto Delgado Airport with FACAL\u2019s fa\u00e7ade expertise<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

FACAL \u2013 Fa\u00e7ade Engineering<\/a> is contributing to the expansion and modernisation of Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon<\/a>, in an intervention covering the South Pier, Central Pier and South Apron. As part of the current modernisation programme for Terminal 1, the project will increase the airport\u2019s capacity while improving operational conditions and passenger circulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within this project, FACAL is responsible for the fa\u00e7ade works, bringing its expertise in engineering, technical development and execution to an intervention requiring a high level of coordination between different systems and specialist trades. The scale of the project and the specific requirements of an airport environment demand rigorous planning, technical precision and close coordination throughout every stage of execution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A central element of the development is the new South Pier at Terminal 1, which will add approximately 33,000 m\u00b2 to the terminal and provide 10 new passenger boarding bridges. The programme also includes the connection between the South Pier and the Central Pier, as well as the refurbishment of the existing Central Pier and South Busgate, helping to increase operational capacity and improve passenger flows and comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Architecture and Engineering by Quadrante<\/a>, the South Pier has been designed to meet the functional and environmental requirements of a contemporary airport infrastructure. The integration of architecture, engineering and technical solutions aims to create more efficient spaces capable of responding to the evolving operational needs of Humberto Delgado Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
